Today I spent a lot of time working out and reading. I went long boarding and I lost track of how many push ups I did. I also watched a Netflix video, Altered Carbon which I frickin love! I wanted to meet this girl up in Island Park this weekend but I couldn’t make it. She’ll head home tomorrow and tomorrow I’m going up for a night to camp out and kayak the river. Dating is cool and I’m just getting back into it.
I spend most of the day researching Dominance Heirarchies. They are interesting to me for several reasons. First, They are not something you can ignore in life and hope to be successful. We are stuck with them and it’s better to accept things we can’t control and work within systems. Second, they are interesting to me. Third, I want to win in life and I’ll change or do whatever I have to do to do win!
Lately I’ve been reading a lot of old psych authors like William James. Freud, Piaget, and Jung.
I feel like knowledge is the first key to success. Next is creating action from the knowledge.
I remember a few years ago a girl came up to me on the streets and started to gossip and told me another one of her friends said I had a disadvantage over all the other photographer around the area because I know how to promote myself.
Maybe I do have an unfair disadvantage but who’s fault it that? If you’re going to run a business in an area where there is a lot of competition I feel like you’re stupid if you don’t learn everything you can about how to get ahead. I thought about this today and I remember the girl who was complaining about me was a bitter girl who I found out later was mad because I wouldn’t shoot her for free, by the way, I don’t shoot for free… so I looked up her IG to see how she was doing. I think seeing the results of someone attitude and belief system is a good way to tell if they are doing things the right way. As I expected she never changed. She is still living the same way. She still has nothing and it doesn’t look like her life will change anytime soon.
This is something that my mentor talks about all the time. If you find someone who is going or is at the place you want to be, research them, find out how they think, what they do and pattern your life to be like theirs. I see a lot of people I know living one way and hoping their lives turn out another way. I this is a shitty plan. I like the idea of hope but I’m not betting my future on hope. If you go one way it will take you there. If you go another way it will take you there. At some point the choice is yours and so is the destination. I’ve made a few course corrections in the last few weeks. After taking time to think and make goals and plans I realized I want quite a few things I didn’t want 6 months ago. That’s why I’m picky with who I date and I ask questions and if the girl doesn’t live or think with what fits into what I envision my future like, Hey. We can be friends.
Tomorrow I won’t be around to write a blog post cause I’ll be kayaking so have a good evening and have a good day tomorrow!
Ah! One more thing. I don’t know why but a lot of people are asking me to hold spots in my workshops and I’m not going to. In the past this has always burned me and it sucks when I have to tell someone the workshop is full and then the person who I was holding the spot for doesn’t come through. The Answer is no. And right now the answer for free shoots is also no. I only shoot when I need it for promotion or marketing or when I’m being paid.
I’m not trying to be rude or anything but I feel like it’s taking advantage of someone to ask then to do something that they charge for for free. I don’t go to my mechanic and ask him to change the alternator in my Sprinter for free.
I’m getting closer to having the Portland/Seattle workshop done. I need to find models and decide on the location( I have a few to consider) and then post it.
I also want to say thank you to all the people who are messaging me, enrolling and setting up photo sessions. I’m excited to work with all of you! You know who you are!
I’m not gonna do a recap on this blog tonight. I think it’s pretty easy to get.
Message me for more details and to enroll or to talk about a photo session!
Ikon Republik- I live and travel in a frickin van and I love my life! I founded a magazine, VEGA Magazine. My magazine is full of beautiful nude women and its based around the idea of respect and soon it will include amazing articles on how to improve your life! Out of the last 8 months, I have spent 4 of them living in the desert, under the stars and cooking over a campfire that was made with two sticks and a bow. I believe in self sufficiency and integrity. Now you know a little about who I am. I’d love to know more about you! My plan to tour the USA and teaching a workshop in every state is almost finished and I’m excited to start this big adventure! It’s almost done!
